Italian Classic Basil. Our most popular variety is this sweet basil. Same strain that made pesto famous world wide. The region of Genoa got an Indicazione Geografica Protetta (IGP) trademark that limits the use of the name Genovese to basil grown in a certain area of Liguria, but very little seed is grown there. Whatever it's called, it's the best. Classic basil used for sauces, pesto & just about everything else. Space at 14-16 inches. 70-75 days from direct seed, earlier from transplants. 6 gram packet, about 4,800 seeds. FUSARIUM FREE - TESTED.

I have been growing basil for 35 years!!! This is decidedly the very best ever. The leaves grow to lettuce size, very prolific.......BUT the best thing about them is they do not turn black when they are frozen, they stay green. The flavor and aroma are exceptional! An all around winner.

This is the most fragrant, tender and flavorful basil I have ever grown, and it is quite a vigorous plant as well. It is reasonably slow to go to seed in northern New England so I only do two plantings per season. I always get a good crop.
