Product Description

Garlic Viola Francese is a softneck variety that is grown all over SW France and NW Italy. (some regions have reported it sometimes sends up a scape, like a hardneck). It has large purple and white cloves and an excellent flavor. The bulbs are huge — 4-5 bulbs per pound. There are about 15 cloves per bulb.  The garlic is being sold in units of approximately 1/2 pound (2 big bulbs).  WE CANNOT SHIP GARLIC OUTSIDE THE U.S. or to Idaho.

This garlic is required to be fumigated by USDA as a condition of entry into the U.S.  We also have the same variety grown organically for us here in the U.S. in Idaho.

Garlic needs to be planted in autumn. Read our growing guide to garlic. Planting instructions will be included with your bulbs.

  1. A Winner!

Last season I grew the red provencal garlic. The plants were vigorous and trouble free. At harvest, we found the heads were huge. They have proved to be very flavorful, spicey, and keep well in storage. A winner!
