Gigante d'Inverno — Giant Winter Leek. Large storage type leek. Big plant, blue/green tops, white bottoms with a bit of a bulb at the end. 120 days or so. Cold resistant. Approximately 1000 seeds. Best to grow from transplants started 8-9 weeks before set out date. Approximately 340-400 seeds per gram.

Excellent!
This was my first time growing leeks and my first time ordering from Seeds from Italy. I was very impressed by both. The leeks were easy to grow and delicious. I had a very high germination rate and I did not loose a single leek plant! They are still going strong in the ground overwinter. The Seeds from Italy plants seemed far superior to the other organic and heirloom plants I planted! I am definitely a repeat-customer!

Grew well in Midwest, quite tall
Grew this for the first time this year and will do so again. Grew much taller than most winter type leeks with a lot of useable shaft. I mulched it, which likely helped.
