  • Sarzana my favorite 5

Excellent flavor, sweet and beautiful even when you miss one that grows too large. I planted 1-2 last year - going to plant 3 maybe 4 so I have plenty to share. I have never seen this variety at any farmer's market. I prefer these to the Genovese

  • Excellent Flavor; Easy to Grow 4

Planted two this season - seedlings went into the ground in Mid April. Plants are very vigorous - healthy & producing LOTS of fabulous tender zucchini. We planted in the SF Bay Area - just minutes north of San Francisco. So far, I am super impressed with the health of the Zucchini Albarello plant! In years past - other varieties have quickly suffered from Powdery Mildew... but so far this variety has been awesome! The only very minor "drawback" is that the flower really covers the whole cap of the zucchini & if I'm not diligent about harvesting before the flowers wither - it can cause the tip of the zucchini rot a bit. Also - the plant is quite spiny/prickly - more so than any other zucchini I've planted. Definately invest in some garden gloves! :) These are very minor "issues" & I would definitely recommend this variety!

  • Healthy and productive 4

This is my first season, working with Albarello. The plants are vigorous, healthy, and productive. They have an interesting shape, slightly ridged and not quite straight. The flavor is very fine, and they can get large (quickly) but remain tender and tasty. This ones a winner!
