We love fennel. We even sing songs about it "Funiculì, Funiculà, Finocchio! (With apologies to Mr. Bocelli) We love Di Parma, and we also grow Romanesco and Montebianco. Although the Parma is smaller, it has wonderful flavor and a great crunch.
We have to basket fennel, because the gophers love it too. But, it's an easy crop, transplants readily, and is simple to harvest.
Wonderful on pasta or in salad. My family serves it at the end of dinner with the cheese tray.
Crunchy and yummy. I would give all three of these varieties 5 stars. This is always the first of the three that we harvest.
