Biscia Rossa Early. Crisp & crunchy looseleaf. Deep red tips, green below. Like most early lettuce, it has a low/moderate bolting resistance, so grow in spring & fall. Harvest entire head or pull off outer leaves. Start from 6 week transplants spaced 12" or direct seed, 2-3 seeds every six inches with 12 inches between rows. Thin to one plant. Cut one of the plants at baby lettuce size so as to give a full 12" spacing and enjoy baby lettuce. Also makes a nice cutting lettuce if sown thickly on a well prepared bed. 6 gram packet.
