Sprouted well and growing nicely in my greenhouse. Will transplant soon and see how the plants do outside
This variety comes from the northern regions of Italy. It makes growing it it in the northeast very successful. I have tried other San Marzano tomatoes without a large yield. I believe because of the weather conditions here. These seeds do really well. Along with the red pear tomatoes I am able to can these for winter months. Very happy they are back!
all good so far
The plants taste terrible. Ask me about the large fruit in late Aug
First year for this variety. Grown in West Virginia and as all the others say on this site, incredibly large 8' high plants loaded with delicious tomatoes. Canned crushed Redortas in cooked down Redorta sauce. Absolutely incredible. Many friends loved these. My only question is if the seed is open pollinated? They don't have the flavor of Brandywines but they are incredibly sweet, meaty and tasty. Wonderful tomato.
