Very strong aroma and flavor basil. Started in greenhouse and growing in hoop house. Overplanted but thinned for numerous individual plants. Prune some and regrows nicely. Sell to restaurant chefs with repeat orders.
This was the first Franchi zucchini I grew. I've grown it now for 4 years and it changed my mind about zucchini. I didn't hate zucchini but I didn't like it either. I grew this for market and the taste is amazing. I LOVE this zucchini and so do all my customers. I think I have people come to my table after trying this and another Franchi variety just to buy zucchini even though I charge more. Always great germination even on seeds left over from the year before and so far no disease issues.
This is the third year in a row that this variety has produced fantastic zucchini for me. In Vermont, no less. They are tender and delicious and the plants are largely trouble free. I recommend them highly whether boiled, grilled or sauteed.
I plant a little extra seed with the organic selection, to allow for irregular germination.
