Lettuce Resistente Franchi (79-18)
Lettuce Resistente Franchi (79-18)
This is a delicious mid-late variety with a beautiful appearance. The outer leaves are dark green and tender, and inside leaves are pale and crunchy. The heads get fairly large (if you can stop yourself from eating it before it gets fully mature). It is resistant to bolting in heat or cold, so it is a good choice for early spring and fall crops. 5 gram packet. Approximately 600-1200 seeds per gram. Your Lettuce Resistente Franchi is a HUGE hit in our Central Florida winter garden! It shrugs off diseases and pests, but we gave it a head start by using a soil substitute mix of perlite/vermiculite/coir/composted manure/lime/slow release organic fertilizer to minimize chances of infection by the myriad plant diseases here.. Haven't sprayed once! We selectively harvested leaves and thinned plants until the heads began to form, then started harvesting heads and replanting seeds. Great flavor and texture, reminiscent of heirloom lettuces. My wife normally prefers iceberg or buttercrunch but fell in love with Resistente. Mille Grazie!
