Love Canasta! This lettuce is crunchy and has a wonderful texture, not one of those wimpy limp spring lettuces. Did not begin to bolt until after July 4!! Just kept picking the outer leaves. Reseeded a second patch of lettuce in July and have been enjoying it in August, no hint of bitterness. Beautiful loose heading form. My quest to find the perfect lettuce is over!

One of the nicest and most reliable lettuces I've grown. I start indoors in February and transplant late march. Withstands mild frost (we've had a few 30 degree nights with no problem).

Canasta lettuce has been great, even in our hot summer weather!
